As a parent, it is your responsibility to ensure that your child has a lifetime of good dental health. Medcare Dental in Claremont is here for you if you’re a new parent and feel overwhelmed.

There are others who find the idea of practicing good oral hygiene infancy to be a bit extreme. The baby hasn’t even cut his or her first tooth yet! You should be wiping your gums with gauze or a soft, wet washcloth even before your teeth begin to erupt. Whether you’re nursing or bottle-feeding, make sure to do this after each feeding.

A new chapter in oral hygiene begins when the teeth emerge. It doesn’t matter if it’s just one tooth, acquire a baby toothbrush and clean it. Toothpaste isn’t necessary at this point.

First dental checkups should be scheduled when your child’s first tooth erupts, at six months of age on average. Even if a child has no teeth by the time they turn one, we like checking to see whether they may emerge. Make sure your child’s teeth are developing properly, and we’ll take a closer check at the jaw.

We want you to enjoy your first visit with us. The first one, in particular, should be a happy memory.  Parents can assist their children in preparing for this event by explaining what will take place, why it is vital to one’s health, and most importantly, why they should not be concerned. Have your youngster practice opening their mouth in the manner in which we will instruct them throughout the visit.

Tooth decay is the most frequent chronic condition among children, according to numerous studies. Preventive care at home and at Medcare Dental in Claremont can help avert many of these issues. Never forget that we’ve got you covered when it comes to your kid’s dental health. Let us know when you’d like to meet.
